Billy has been working with clay since 1978. His work is evolving and changing from year to year. The teapots shown here, are thrown and altered on the wheel.
He has written many technical articles for Ceramics Ireland and Ceramic Review, London.. In 2002, Billy was selected for a residency at Shigaraki Ceramic Park, Japan. Billy is also a founder member of "Wood Fire Salt" a contempory Irish saltglaze group. Recently he has demonstrated techniques/ kiln building in Austria, Derry (N.I.), Dublin, England, Japan and Thomastown, Co. Kilkenny and has exhibited in major exhibitions in France and Ireland. His work is also in the permanent collection of the Shigaraki Cultural Park, Japan.
